The 17th Festival International du Cirque de Massy

From the 10th till the 13 th of January 2013 the french city of Massy became the center of the world’s circus life. The reason of such high interest is an annual “International Circus Festival”, which along with festivals in Monte-Carlo and Paris is one of the most prestigious in the world. And yet, the festival in Massy is unusual and has its own features. It is always presented as a grand show for the fanciers of the traditional circus with animals, clowns, acrobats, jugglers, equilibrists and trapeze artists.

The festival in Massy is an annual exciting fight of the representatives of different genres for the grand prize. First of all the competitive programme in Massy is a parade of stars. Family “Kassely” (trainers of the elephants and the horses, which has won the highest award at the “Monte-Carlo Festival”), acrobatic female duo “Aphrodites” (adagio, bronze medalist at the “World Acrobatics” in Germany) and many other well-known artists transformed the festival into a triumph of the high craftsmanship.

The performances of special guest, “Housch-ma-Housch”, were a real highlight of the festival. A true virtuoso of improvisation, master of clowning, “Housch-ma-Housch”, was able to strengthen the lush paint of the holiday, made it funny for the audience.
